I am finally going home, I can't believe it! I am so so so happy. I cheered all day.
We are a little nervous for our 24 hours of travel with Will. We packed him lots of special food and toys. Let's hope it is enough to get us all home smiling. Alina is a gem and hasn't given me an ounce of trouble. It helps that she loves Lena and does whatever she says.
Some pictures of our last days in Kiev.

Cheri is such a trooper and has been a big help. Her positive attitude is infectious. She loves Ukraine and constantly points out all the beautiful and wonderful things she sees. She has been good for my last week.
She is constantly dancing, singing and making the kids laugh. I wouldn't have made it without her and am grateful she came clear across the world to help me.
We took this suitcase to the grocery store so we wouldn't have to carry the groceries home. The handle broke and it was a hilarious nightmare trying to get it home. It came off once right at the top of the subway escalators and all the Ukrainians were tripping over the suitcase and yelling at Cheri. She just smiled back. It was so so funny.
She continues to smile at all Ukrainians even though no one smiles back. It is cute.

Sounds like Cheri. I don't know if there's a sweeter person out there. I'm glad you're having fun your last week. How has Will's health been since he's been with you? He looks like a healthy little boy. I sure hope you have a safe and happy journey home. I'm sure the rest of your family is anxious to see you. I drove by your house today and imagined your new kids seeing it for the first time. They're going to love their new home-and the warmer weather. I'm sure the ward is going to just gobble your kids up and smother them with love! Hope it doesn't freak em' out. Can't wait to see you. I'll try to give you at least a few days to settle in before I come knocking at your door.;)Is Alina feeling any better about leaving the orphanage? Looks like she's having fun. Happy travels! Love ya! Shelby
ReplyDeleteYahoo!!! I think you might actually be at the airport now? Woot!! Good luck with it all. That is such a long trip. Can't wait to see you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for all of you! Can't wait to meet everyone some time this year I hope. Love you! Debbie (AZ)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are coming home! Im sure Will and Alina are going to experience lots of "firsts" when they actually get here, as well as you will too I'm sure. Good thing you can laugh a lot!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Cheri has continued to play the "glad game" and has helped you endure your last week in Ukraine. Looks like many more adventures, and many more stories:)
There will be a big welcoming committee when you get here. I'm sure it will be just the first overwhelming thing the kids experience!
See you soon!!
Holy cow! It seems like you've been gone forever!!! I'm so excited to meet these beautiful additions to your already cute family!!! It takes a village to raise a child so remember you have a loving & amazing village waiting to help you!! I'm soooo happy these kids are yours. You already are an awesome mom . As I've read all these blogs it is very clear how much you've grown in patience, love & let us not forget
ReplyDeleteYour appreciation for American food. May you never forget whatever was in the "tube.". Luv ya! Kim
Yea!! So excited for you to be back! Glad Ebbert is there to help out. I have got to see the other Tiger pics!!! Ha Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see YOU. Can't wait for Alina to see Spencer and tell him he is so tall. Can't wait for Vitaliy to see Alina and try not to blush (because we tell him that he has a choice of 3 girls.. Lena, Sara or Alina.) Can't wait for Spencer to see Alina and tell her that her bangs are long. Can't wait for Spencer to see Will. I am sure that Will doesn't remember Spencer and Spencer only knew him as a new baby. Can't want to see if there is some kind of bond.
ReplyDeleteVitaliy just came up and asked if his shirt looks good enough for the airport. I said "Yes, Alina will like it." (even though there are not any cartoon figures on it.) He smiled. Then he said he was going to leave the top button unbuttoned so she could see his muscles. (I tried not to burst out laughing too hard.)
Looking forward to seeing you TONIGHT!
lots of love
The Hinks
Christy! I am laughing out loud about Vitaly and his unbuttoned shirt. I ofen wonder based on their age, good looks, and fascination with girls at an early age if he and Alex weren't twins - split apart at birth. There were in orphanages in the same city. Just on different sides of the river!
DeleteWELCOME HOME Amy,Lena,Alina and Will! So glad you're here!
ReplyDeleteLove, Shelby
Amy, I just stopped in here to see if you had updated and included homecoming pictures. I feel so bad to have missed the event! Please share and keep blogging about that cute Will and Alina's adjustment! Love to read your writing!
