I have been asking Jeff for a few days to help me figure out how to put the video on my blog. It is hilarious right? I couldn't get it to work because it was too big.
So today when I saw comments in my email about Will performing, I had no idea what you were talking about until I logged into my blog. Jeff thought he was pretty sneaky.
So yes we did figure out his name, if we actually get to adopt him. We heard through the grapevine stuff about the big D at his orphanage and it sounds like we are going to have a fight on our hands. I will have to email details to those who are interested since my blog is public.
We tried to figure out a Z name for him, or anything close to his Ukraine name, but we hated them all. We decided to just ditch it and name him William Randall Rast, William for Jeff's dad and Randall for mine. We are going to call him Will, because I love it. He didn't ever know his parent's and we want him to feel like ours.
Alina loved her name and didn't want to change it. We wanted her to have a little part of us, so we came up with Alina Kay Rast after my mom. I think we have convinced her to let us call her Ally , or Ali. Lena and Alina can't tell the difference when I am calling them. So annoying for me, because Lena gets frustrated at me. Go figure!
We are headed back to Kryvih Rih tomorrow to spend a few days with Z man or Will. I can't wait for court to be over. If we don't get to adopt him after all of this..... well there aren't even words for it.
Jeff and Amy, I'm so touched that you named the kids after your parents. I love both names!! You guys are awesome!! Little Will looks like both of you. He definitely belongs to you! Please email me about details of the big D.

I don't know what the "big D" means, but it doesn't sound very good. I hope it all gets worked out. They seem like very sweet kids. I think about you guys a lot and hope you are surviving your cold winter in Ukraine.

I kept telling myself 'the stronger the breeze, the stronger the trees' and 'these boys must have such an amazing mission to fill if they finally get over here for there to be so much opposition'. Lots of people are praying for you and your family and your soon to be family and the D and all involved.

ReplyDeleteI don't have any way to contact you.. I was going to try to put your mind at ease a bit by saying there have been at least 6 special needs adoptions from that orphanage in the past. I had something else I was going to say but I don't feel comfortable writing that here. At any rate, praying for you guys :D
